The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is a Victorian Government-owned organisation set up to pay for treatment and benefits for people affected by transport accidents, promote road safety and improve Victoria's trauma system.
With a focus on road safety issues and changing behaviour to reduce crashes, the TAC and its partners actively campaign to prevent serious injury and loss of life on Victoria's roads.
This channel features TV ads and road safety campaigns created by the TAC since its establishment in 1986.
These videos have been created to educate the community about road safety and with a vision for a future free of death and serious injuries on our roads.

Determination and resilience, Fleur's story
NO ONE WOULD EVER SAY LOSS OF LIFE IS ACCEPTABLE THIS IS BRAINWASHING The NSW State government and by proxy the Australian government is being used to down play the civilian lives lost in Palestine and Gaza. If you are being forced to watch this as part of your school curriculum think about the specifics of this video this is much more than a speeding ad.
as a giant guy with unusually large feet (US size 20) I couldn't find motorcycle or sturdy shoes to save my life. i can only wear the large sneakers made for the 7 footers in the nba by nike and adidas, usually at ross which is nice
4:23 always got me..... always. The sheer defeat on the truck driver. They NEED to keep this going on tv..... like this whole video..... THAT is a ad people wont forget
This has to be the most brutal video I have ever ever seen. The sad thing is that it had to be made.
They played this video on a field trip we took at my school and we all brought along
ok fine... i won't get my motorcycle license.
Also, jeans melts into your flesh. Never wear jeans on a motorcycle.
After 14 years, this still hits like a ton of bricks.
What aong is this
best ad
Mmmm looks tasty-
Guess who just bought boots!?
The thumbnail made me think they were advertising an armoured motorcycle hoodie 💀
Song plz
Gravity was invented by the protection gear industry just to sell
MotoGaint lost his right foot and left toe because he wore work boots instead of riding boots.
Ok, ok. I get it..I'll wear my gear, Dad.
I’m staggered that people think there is some benefit for not wearing a seatbelt.
“Aight she said no one home”
Fatigue killed a mate of mine on Highway 1 near Port Pirie 25 years ago. Fell asleep and crossed the centre line into two girls from Melton. All killed instantly. No skidmarks, so it must have happened in a split second, with no time to react. You don't see it coming
all those who want an extended version, say aye
Aye!
No reason not to wear if the car has one
I teach driver CPC classes and use this video all the time. its made a difference to so many peoples lives, but not enough. What if, this was shown on national tv in the evening a 7pm when EVERYONE would see it. it would cause an uproar, good. Lets start that national conversation with this. Should we be showing it gets the thing talked about and replayed. Kids see it and turn to parents and say "Dad, dont do that." The more it ril;es people the more valuable it becomes. it needs to be everywhere. tv, posters , radio , and yes here on the net. we are in status quo right now with drink driving. We can and should be doing more. Do you agree?please let me know
i can feel it even though i watching this on my laptop
“Speed has never killed anyone suddenly becoming stationary that’s what gets you “
Hey TAC of Vic, Can you give me some suggestions on how not to visit the hospital because I ride a bike for transport? It would be nice to ride my bike without breaking the law just so I can get home safe and well. I'm currently living in Chelsea and besides all the gravel, riding on the roads in and around these suburbs are crazy, not only no bike lanes, but cars parked everywhere. I sometimes ride on the shared paths, but there has been way too many people wearing headphones and not paying attention to their surroundings to hear a bell or someone yelling. This is mainly not on Nepean or beach rd because the riders and cars are equally nuts and some riders deserve to get hit imo. Don't race on the roads and if you do, then don't try sprint and go in the other lane when a cars coming past riding in the middle of the road avoiding the bikes and oncoming cars. That's a different story and those idiots are ruining it for everyone else. I ride on footpaths, jump gutters, run through some stop signs that are safer for me when In don't stop and don't wear a helmet sometimes because I have hair and it makes me stand out more. How my hair stands out more then a fluro yellow helmet is amazing to me, but during peak times, I've found no helmet to actually be safer. I do not ride fast without it though, I can fall at any speed even walking speed and injur myself though, so its stupid, but so is riding a bicycle in this state, so its apples and oranges imo I also need to dodge tradies and the things they spit or throw at me some Thursdays and Fridays afternoons to the point where I try avoid those times. Id really like to live a long life and not be another lesson to teach car drivers to look out for bikes on the road, because no matter how many people get hurt or worse, these drivers are getting worse and less patient by the day. How about you use charge us a registration fee and make bike tracks that cars cannot enter and are not shared with clueless pedestrians with noise cancelling headphones? I and many other riders would happily pay yearly so we don't need to risk our lives everyday. No car drivers will experience what goes through our heads when cars go flying past us 1 foot away because I slowed them down 1 second. I bet if we paid rego, these people would be more patient with us too. If nothing gets fixed then I will keep breaking the law, keep teaching and spreading my message to break the law to stay safe on the bike. I'm more then happy if you want to make a video/story about me before my demise, but hey I break the law and that's wrong so why would you care.. You made these roads and they were made for cars and still made for cars only without thought or design to keep other uses safe. These roads were not designed for motorbikes, trucks and bicycles and we for some reason we need to pay with our lives..
Who voted for this? I didn’t. I don’t know anyone that did. Eventually Australians will have enough of this level of intrusiveness and you people will be shut down and called out for what you are.
I used to speed up and down the freeway at 2 am cuz I was upset with my boyfriend. Drinking drugging. But for the grace of God I'm ok. My friend got upset with her boyfriend speeding up the mountain drinking druggin too on new Year's Eve. Except she went wrong way on a one way and ran head on into a poor older man coming home. He didn't make it. Her engine was beside her inside her car. She broke so many bones. Surgeries metal pins. She was beautiful. After the crash she lives in a wheelchair due to constant pain. She was single mom and had to go to prison leaving her small daughter behind. There but for the grace of God go I. I'm sorryand ashamed that I did that. I'm sorry and so sad that she did too. I don't drink no more. I pray she doesn't eitherwe lost touch. God bless all involved in her tragedy.
I never used to wear protective gear, but thanks to DanDan the Fireman, I wear full protective gear whenever I ride.
Gonna use this as both an alarm, and a reminder to myself to pull over when im feeling tired. Best be changing underwear when setting this as an alarm though lol.
I'm glad PSAs are still alive even to this day. It's sad to see it doesn't show on television anymore.
Dress like a member of Judas Priest from head to toe. Nothing but leather

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORK AND HELP.
I just ordered bunch of gear 😭
Will the correctly identify older cars that don’t require seat belts or have lap style seat belts? Eg. I have a 1960 car.

Roads are not physically wide enough to share with cars Cars get first priority as we pay alot to use the road
You're campaigning for better cycling infrastructure then, right? ...right?
@@MarkPentler yes and all cyclists have to pay a fee
@@Magpie_Mark92 maybe if everyone used bikes instead of cars, there wouldn't be any road taxes! most bikes weigh around 40 lbs, but cars weigh almost 65 times that. if everyone wasnt using a 2 ton vehicle, then road maintenance wouldnt be needed as often.
Amazing from the TAC!! What a great story, Tara. Some valuable messages imbedded here.
we got the old TAC back!
